Hi, everyone. I know this is, uh, not typical for me, and I would prefer not to for lots of reasons, but I am kind of desperate right now.

I have been struggling for years to hold an in-office job. The past few I've tried for, I've experienced multiple severe panic attacks on the way to, at, and returning from work, and have been forced to quit or been fired, with the most recent incident being this past September. Recently my docs have diagnosed me with agoraphobia (in addition to the already-known depression, anxiety, and being on the autism spectrum), which they think I've been suffering from for a long time without realizing.

I've applied for help from the state, and for short- and long-term disability, but none of it is in effect yet. I've been trying to doordash to make enough money for rent and other costs this month, but that's been stressful because of the uncertain amount, as well as.. driving around to places and people I don't know. It's been very difficult. I'm also applying for as many remote roles as I can find, as newly-listed as I can. Lots of these roles are fake and/or already inundated with hundreds of applications. So this has been difficult as well.

My family is, at least right now, unable to support me through this. But I really, really don't think I can survive losing my apartment. It is my space. I do not have uninvited eyes on me here. I am free to be myself. If I am forced to move back in with my mom, or worse, to become homeless, I will lose my safe place. I will lose the space where I'm comfortable being loud and silly in my friends’ Minecraft RP server. I want to recover on terms and at a pace that will help me rather than hurt me, and find a remote job that suits me. And I am afraid that I won't make it that long. I am afraid I will not make it past this month.

I do not know what the best avenue for this is, and I worry that I'm asking without having really earned the right to, but I need to ask for your help.

Between doordash and whatever money you can part with, I need to make around $1100-$1200 USD in order to pay my bills and rent.

Please do not feel obligated to contribute. Please also do not contribute if doing so would put you in any financial trouble. I do not want you to sacrifice your well-being for mine. Any help that can be provided is extremely appreciated.

CBC's Donation Drive!

I am always telling others to act, and so, I've been thinking about how I can better utilize my platform to help others. My friend Ibtisam inspired me with her own idea to write thank you cards for those who are donating to lifesaving causes!

I will be writing up to 100 thank you cards for those who donate at least $10 to any campaign or fundraising program of their choice. unfortunately, my partner and i are crowdfunding again. I lost my job due to health issues, and my partner's job isn't enough to sustain us and our two cats. things are to the point that we're considering rehoming them, even as we continue to spoil them and even try to take care of a stray that has adopted us. (off topic i guess, but. a reminder that we're human)

Hey all, I'm probably speaking into the void here but trying to get the word out; There's a GoFundMe campaign to support one of the writers (Argo Tuulik) of the game Disco Elysium with his recent legal and life troubles, large part of which was the caused by the massive dumpster fire that is ZA/UM.

As some of you may know, ZA/UM stole the IP from Disco Elysium's original creator's and fired all the original staff who worked on the game and canceled the planned sequel. Since then they've been sitting on the IP with no announced plans for it's future.

Last month, Argo Tuulik was given an injuction to prevent him from working on his newest project 'Summer Eternal', preventing him from working in his field and putting his family in financial straits.

Per Argo's gofundme, the money donated will be used as follows:

Legal fees paid directly to our lawyers

Rent, utilities and food until April 2025 when the injunction runs out and we can go back to work

Critical expenses such as medical and veterinary care

Any funds raised (or left) over the eventual costs will go towards building a new legal claim to restore ownership of the Elysium IP to its original creative worldbuilders, who never signed away rights to the characters and narratives predating the game studio and even its predecessor, the small cultural movement with a seagull on our black flag.

Help for dental revision surgery

Hi folks. This is the last thing I want to be doing again. The thought of having to reach out during this past hellish year of my life makes me sick to think about. But someone told me this is what a community is here for, to help when it is needed <3 Last year I was physically assaulted (related to transphobia and abuse) which resulted in me losing a front tooth and fracturing my jaw. Its was the most pain I physically had to go through and just in general this past year has really tested me. With all those medical bills is the reason why I fell so behind with rent an utilities, but with the help of a dear friend, @julykings and so many of YOU I made it out of that and have had a place to stay, which I can't thank you enough <3 I have been experiencing severe pain in my jaw again and went to go get it checked out last week. I've been told that my jaw has been shifting again, which will cause trouble with speaking, eating etc in the long run. So the terrible news is that I've been scheduled for revision surgery on the 20th of January. If I don't get the surgery my jaw and quality of day to day life will be in jeopardy. Since I don't have medical aid I have to pay out of pocket. In total the surgery will cost $2000, which makes me want to cry. Also because I live off the little freelance work I do while actively looking for a more stable job after being laid off last year. If at least a $1000 can be paid by the 20th I can go ahead with the surgery. I know I've asked a lot from this beautiful community and all the help has not gone unappreciative in the slightest. I truly do need help with this. I get emotional just thinking about all the support and love I've received. I was thinking of setting up a GoFundMe, but that didn't generate much the first time around when the assault happened. So if anyone has the means to spare a few dollars to help me get this surgery it will truly save me

An update: I have almost enough to pay Julys rent fully which is awesome, but I also managed to hurt myself pretty badly last night and have at best maybe 2 clients this week. So even a reblog helps a lot!

Hey so I don’t know how many of you read my stuff or could help with this, but I’m really struggling right now because my health pushed me into a job where I only get paid if I sell, which is not ideal and has resulted in me being behind on all my bills and struggling with the us system to get even healthcare they don’t make me pay more then I’m earning for.

And they don’t want to give me rent assistance without an eviction notice, which goes on my renters history and makes it even harder for me in the future when my credit is already bad (where I live most apartments already credit check and this was the only place I could find that took a guarantor)

If you can help out at all I would be eternally grateful. Even a share would mean a lot to me right now.
